Why start your Morocco trip in Casablanca

Casablanca is where most international flights into Morocco actually land, which makes it a practical starting point rather than just an economic capital to pass through quickly. Before heading south or north, most of our guests spend their first hours at the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest religious buildings in the world and one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors, its minaret rising directly over the Atlantic. From there, every itinerary on this page follows its own version of the same broad idea: use Casablanca as a gateway, then spend the bulk of the trip in the places that made you want to visit Morocco in the first place.

Choosing between a week and three weeks

The right length really depends on how much of the country you want to see rather than any fixed rule. A 7 or 8-day tour covers the essentials — a couple of imperial cities and a proper night in the Sahara — without needing much annual leave. Give it 9 to 11 days and there's room for Chefchaouen's blue lanes and a slower pace through the desert crossing. Making the trip your own

Not every traveller wants the same mix of history and desert. Couples marking an anniversary often prefer our dedicated honeymoon itineraries, built around the same southern route but with more privacy and upgraded desert camps. Families usually lean on our family tour pacing instead, which keeps driving days shorter and adds rest time between sights. What the route actually looks like

Almost every itinerary from Casablanca follows the same broad shape: north or south along the coast first, then inland toward the imperial cities of Rabat, Meknes and Fes, before turning south through the Middle Atlas toward the Sahara. The blue-washed hillside town of Chefchaouen sits on the northern arm of that route and is included on most of our longer tours, while the southern arm passes through Ouarzazate and the kasbah valleys on the way to Merzouga's dunes. The loop typically closes through Marrakech before returning to Casablanca, though several of our itineraries can also end in Marrakech directly if that suits your flight home better.
